Richard Inwood

Richard Neil Inwood (born 4 March 1946) formerly Archdeacon of Halifax, was consecrated the Anglican Bishop of Bedford by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Revd Dr Rowan Williams at Southwark Cathedral on 7 March 2003. He served in Sheffield, London, Bath and Yeovil, before his Halifax appointment.^[2] His wife, Liz is a maths teacher and examiner. Before ordination, Bishop Inwood spent a year teaching in north-west Uganda and worked as a research and development chemist with ICI in Manchester for nearly two years.^[3]

He read Chemistry at University College, Oxford, and later, Theology at Nottingham University.^[4]

He is the co-author of Moved by Steam: Beside the tracks and on the trains 1962-67 by Richard Inwood and Mike Smith (Kettering, 2009), ISBN 978-1-85794-323-8.
